The time has come.
As it may become preferable or even necessary for The Well-read Naturalist to leave all Meta platforms (I continue to struggle with the content I post here “feeding the beast”) as it was previously removed from Twitter when it became “X” (x-rated, more like), I am developing the necessary structure to publish a free fortnightly (well, that’s the hope, at least) email newsletter that provides links to all newly published material on the site.
In order to do this, I will need to collect e-mail addresses and names (I think first only should suffice) of those who wish to receive this newsletter. While it should be needless to write, no e-mail addresses collected would be shared or sold with or to anyone else for any reason. (I’m not that sort of person nor is The Well-read Naturalist that sort of website). However, various countries and even some U.S. states have rules governing such things. Therefore, before I can begin publishing a newsletter, I must create a privacy policy and publish it for reference in The Well-read Naturalist. I’ve never written one before, so I’m presently reading-up on how to do so.
Once a privacy policy has been written to satisfy the various regulations, I’ll be adding a sign-up application to the website and letting everyone interested know via another note such as this.
