Have you visited Bug Girl’s Blog yet? Despite it dating back to December of 2004, I just discovered it recently and it has quickly become one of my “must read daily” blogs. Her writing is truly superb, her wit deliciously acidic, and her insights into topics ranging from entomology to contemporary society original and refreshing. Recent posts of particular merit include “Weekend WTF: Bird porn!?,” “Most Unusual Fashion Accessory Award” (this one will truly test your nature nerd credentials as well as your stomach), “Jesus on a Moth.”
In addition to her postings, Bug Girl’s Blog is an excellent source of reference links to various entomological resources (did I mention she has a PhD in Entomology) but please don’t send her “what bug is this” questions. It also features some great resource links for skeptics; in fact, Bug Girl is reported to have even been featured in the Skepchick calendar.
So whether you’re looking for information to help you solve an entomological conundrum (as I was when I first discovered it), hoping to sharpen your skeptical edge, or simply wanting to read some top quality blog writing, Bug Girl’s Blog is a site you should visit. You’ll be adding it to your RSS feed reader – trust me.
Peace and good blog reading.
