As I write on two different blogs, my own Born Again Bird Watcher as well as that of Wingscapes, I try not to “double dip” posted content so as to provide as much rich and creamy natural history goodness as possible to the blog reading world. However once in a while I post something to one or the other of these two blogs that I really think would have also been quite well suited to the other as well.

That said, I posted a very interesting image of what I first thought was simply a Dark-eyed Junco, Junco hyemalis, but after numerous inquiries from viewers of the image and long periods of contemplation on my part as well, I’m now far less certain. In fact, and I really dislike playing this game as I’m not usually even close to being correct, I’m not entirely sure it might not be a hybrid of a junco with a Song Sparrow, Melospiza melodia. Thoughts of readers left at either blog will be read with great interest.

Peace and good bird watching.
