The second new Princeton Field Guide volume scheduled to be published this coming May from Princeton University Press should really set entomologists and general naturalist buzzing, for it will take another very important but under-represented-in-print geographic group of insects as its subject: Common Bees of Western North America.
Written by the team of Dr. Olivia Messinger Carril and Dr. Joseph S. Wilson, this new addition will join the 2021 published book Common Bees of Eastern North America, also by the team of Messinger Carril and Wilson, in the Princeton Field Guide series in completing the coverage of bees across the United States and Canada. Combined with a third book by the team, the widely praised The Bees in Your Backyard: A Guide to North America’s Bees, this most recent volume will form an essential reference trio for all interested in the observation, identification, conservation, and most importantly understanding of the wild bees of the continent.
