This week in his Sunday book review, Mark takes up When the Last Lion Roars; The Rise and Fall of the King of the Beasts, Sara Evan‘s forthcoming book from Bloomsbury. He seems quite pleased with what he read in it; particularly the way in which the author approaches the high level of complexity that surrounds the conservation of charismatic megafauna in the modern world.
I would say more but as our daughter graduated form high school yesterday, and the Mrs. and I volunteered to chaperone the all-night party for the entire graduating class, I’m completely shagged out and in much need of a bit more shut-eye.
Links to Mark Avery’s Sunday book reviews appear in The Well-read Naturalist by special arrangement. You can find all of Mark’s past reviews as well as a wide-ranging collection of his other writings on his Standing Up for Nature website. Mark’s opinions regarding the books he reviews are his own.
