While the U.K. might have just voted itself out of the European Union, four new U.S. states have just joined the association; the American Birding Association that is, as part of their field guide series from Scott & Nix.
Corey Finger’s Field Guide to the Birds of New York, Mark W. Lockwood’s Field Guide to the Birds of Texas, Rick Wright’s Field Guide to the Birds of Arizona, and Laura Erickson’s Field Guide to the Birds of Minnesota, all featuring the photographs by Brian E. Small, have now joined the previously published volumes for Florida, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, making the series now nine in all.
Will there eventually be one for each state? It’s difficult to say at this time. However there are still a significant number of highly experienced birders with strong writing skills who make their homes in states not yet covered by the series, so it’s likely safe to assume we’ll be seeing additional volumes being yet added in the months and years to come.
