Unlike birds, which are generally more difficult to correctly identify than to find, mammals are often quite the opposite. Indeed, given their tendency toward nocturnal activity, sometimes even knowing where to look is a bit of a conundrum.
Fortunately for those interested in getting a better look at the mammals alongside which they may very well have been living all their lives but have never actually seen, as well as those interested in undertaking a more first-hand study of any particular North American mammal species, the news that Vladimir Dinets‘ forthcoming Peterson Field Guide to Finding Mammals in North America is to be published later this month should be very welcome indeed.
