When one is a reviewer of books, each trip to the post office is a potential path to discovery. For example, just the other day a package arrived containing a new book from Oregon State University Press: A Hunger for High Country; One Woman’s Journey to the Wild in Yellowstone Country by Susan Marsh. Not a book about which I had previously known, I must say that the summary of it – the experiences of one of the first women working in the then overwhelmingly male U.S. Forest Service – leads me to expect that it will be a very interesting book indeed. I look forward to settling down with it to see if my expectations are correct.
