Just about the time I was beginning to become concerned that I hadn’t recently heard of a new book by Robert Michael Pyle, news reached me of the publication of Evolution of the Genus Iris, his first book of poetry.
Those who know Bob Pyle’s writing – both from his books as well as his many essays published in such noteworthy periodicals as Orion – will not be in the least surprised that he should publish a book of verse; indeed, more surprising is the fact that this is his first book of it.
I don’t review very many books of verse in The Well-read Naturalist; however this is one to which I am very much looking forward to reading for a future review.
