One sunny April morning not so very long ago, I woke to the sun shining brightly through the still-drawn curtains of our home. With the rest of the family still sound asleep, I remained still, listening through the partially-opened window to the sound of the sparrows singing from the bushes just outside our window. Slowly, my mind began to fill with all the things I had to do that day. Articles needed to be written. Correspondence needed to be answered. The garage needed to be cleaned. Thus while the sun continued to shine, my mood began to darken. Yet the light streaming in through the windows, the singing birds, the sweet smell of the newly sprouting leaves on every plant for miles around all pointed clearly to the high probability of it turning out to be a beautiful Spring day. There was only one thing that could be done: I rose, dressed, and went outside to play.
