Whether amateur or professional, entomologists of all levels of interest and skill should be pleased to learn that a new title from Pantheon which seeks to enlarge the general societal understanding of insects and their lives – The Illustrated Insectopedia by Hugh Raffles – has been announced for publication in March of 2010.
Not always beloved by the public at large, insects make up an astonishing portion of the life on this planet. Surrounded by misunderstanding and burdened by remarkable amounts everything from human aversion to outright fear, insects nevertheless play a critical role in the environment and, once the fog of misinformation regarding their lives and habits is lifted, are amazing creatures in their own right.
Be assured that The Illustrated Insectopedia will receive a full review on The Well-read Naturalist closer to it’s time of publication.
