One of the best reasons to attend the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival is the chance to see some of the innovative new birding products just unveiled for the coming year. For example, Zeiss’ new PhotoScope 85 FL spotting scope with a fully integrated digital camera was on display at the Zeiss Optics booth. With a 15-45x85mm optical configuration and a 7.0 megapixel digital camera (including a flip-out 3″ OLED monitor), this could well be the harbinger of a full blown paradigm shift in the world of digiscoping.
