As I've received a few notes asking "Hey, what gives with the days of no posting?" I thought I'd better get a quick note up to let the world know what I've been doing other than writing and what to expect next week.
Regular readers no doubt already know that I am going to Panama next week. It is also no secret that last week I was brought into the emergency room with a suspected heart attack by the good men and women of the Scappoose VFD. Then this was all capped off by my travelling to Texas over the weekend to represent Wingscapes at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo in Austin.
Thus the past few days have been completely consumed with post-trip activities for Wingscapes, pre-trip activities for Panama, and taking my heart into the cardiologist to see if it needs an unscheduled forty-one year overhaul. With all this, plus worrying about whether the world is plunging into a global economic depression and having a personal religious epiphany, I just have let the past few days slip past without writing anything. For this I am embarrassed and offer my sincere apologies to all my readers.
Now then, next week, assuming my cardiologist doesn't call tomorrow and tell me the tests show something wrong with the old ticker that will prevent my travelling at the moment, I will be in Panama enjoying the fine Panamanian hospitality and bulking up my life list. I will not be taking my trust laptop due to gear weight restrictions. I will also not be able to access the web or e-mail from my BlackBerry due to the price for data transfer being astronomically high. I will however, attempt to post daily via the MMS moblog method that ATT tells me does not count as data but as text. Of course, there may be a lack of connection in some areas so if nothing new is noted for a few days it will not be for lack of trying.
When I get back, expect pictures – lots and lots of pictures. I plan to take hundreds, even thousands if possilbe, as I am packing heavy in the memory card category.
Moblogging while waiting to pick up our daughter from an after-school activity, peace and good bird watching.
