Most of the time when I travel on business I manage to find at least a few idle moments in the morning to sneak out of whatever hotel is serving as home for the trip and get a little bird watching done. However every so often a trip is so short and business so compacted in time that such a brief field trip isn't possible; one's entire trip is lived in within the boundaries of hotels, offices, factories, and airports.
When this situation occurs, I find myself experiencing Bird Deficit Disorder (BDD). The affliction is caused by the paucity or entire absence of avian species stimulating the optic nerves, or in other words, you don't see many (or even any) birds. Most, including myself, who experience this disorder find the episodic flare-ups to be (mercifully) brief and easily remedied with a little rest and a nice morning's walk. A nice rarity wouldn't hurt either.
Moblogging from an airport terminal and homeward bound, peace and good bird watching.
