A mere one day following the premiere of “Crash: A Tale of Two Species” on the award-winning PBS series Nature, the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council rejected by a vote of 5-4 the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s proposed moratorium on the harvest of Horseshoe Crabs. The information presented in “Crash” clearly and unequivocally indicated the dire need to preserve the Horseshoe Crab in order to preserve the Red Knot.
Perhaps five members of the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council don’t watch Nature.
Perhaps they should.
Peace and good bird watching.
